This was the seventh edition of the Biennale Internationale dell'Arte Contemporenea of Florence. Eight hundred biennale artists from 80 countries exhibited over 2,500 works of art. The exhibition took place at the Fortezza da Basso, a Renaissance fortress built in 1534. The Biennale was held in the Spadolini Hall, built in 1970 with 11,000 square meters.
